This course is designed to allow students the opportunity to experience an active laboratory in biological anthropology.   Proper methods of scientific inquiry, investigation, and analysis will be established and recorded by utilizing appropriate techniques in this lab.

Anthropology 1L is designed for students concurrently enrolled in or who have successfully completed Anthropology 1.  Topics addressed in this laboratory course will enhance students’ understanding of biological anthropology.

Anthropology 1L is a credited course for UC as well as CSU.  Anthropology 1 and Anthropology 1L may fulfill either a social science or natural science requirement for CSU campuses.  Please meet with your counselor for details.

Grading Policy:

Students are required to participate in weekly class discussions and activities.  Three hours of work per week is expected for the successful completion of this course. 

Attendance is essential for the completion of this course.  In addition, attendance will be recorded weekly, based upon the completion of class assignments.

Students are required to complete each of the weekly assignments in order to successfully complete this course.  Grades are based upon the following:

*  exams 

*  weekly discussions and postings

*  2 papers

*  laboratory results

No late assignments or exams will be accepted.  There will be no extra credit offered in this class.
