Astronomy 151 and 160 Special Notes:

1. Remember that you cannot login before the first day of class of the quarter.

2. You must be available to take the final exam, in person, on September 5 in PS 158 otherwise do not sign up for the class. Astronomy 151 will have its final from 1-3 PM and Astronomy 160 will have its final from 3-5 PM.

3. The textbook for the course is “Universe” by Kaufman, 8^th edition, published by W.H. Freeman and Company. No other editions or textbook will be used.

1. Log into webCT and follow the instructions in the announcements. Click on the link below if you are not sure how to do this http://www.calstatela.edu/academic/aa/ess/webct/Webct6/WebCT6_FAQs.pdf

2. If you are still having problems getting into WebCT then call the eLearning office at 323-343-6594.

3. When you get into webCT look for link on the left panel marked MAIL and send an email saying simply “email check-in”. All email correspondence for this course will be through webCT email only. Allow two days for a response although I will usually respond much sooner.

4. If you can’t get email to me through webCT you may contact me at csula-astro@live.com again allow two days for a response.

5. If that still does not work please call me at 626-585-7322 right away. If you call please speak slowly and state your telephone number first, then your class, then your last name, first name and then lastly what the problem is.

6. Do not hesitate to email or call if you have a problem. It is understood that computers and email will have problems along with life!
