Field Trip 5:45-6:45 p.m. Meet at the Hill Ave. Branch of the Pasadena Public Library (55 N. Hill Ave. at Green Street) at 5:45 p.m.

• Be prepared to share your brochure about the special library you visited (bring 1 copy to turn in and 5 copies to share)
• Discussion: Be prepared to discuss and share the following about the special library you visited.
  • How are they staffed? MLS? Paraprofessionals?
  • What is the relationship between the library and it's parent institution? What is the mission of this library?
  • Who are the library's patrons? How do they use the library?
  • What traditional library functions occur there? (acquisitions, cataloging, processing, reference, interlibrary loan, document delivery)
  • Describe the kinds of materials available at the library?
  • What type of special library category would you place it in? Research? Corporate? Federal? Institutional? Medical? Other?
  • Share your impressions and concerns about the library and your thoughts on working at that type of library. Compare this library and its work environment to the others you have visited or heard about:
