The Writer’s Journey:
From Cause to Fiction
The Cross Cultural Center and the English Division at Pasadena City College presents The Writer’s Journey: From Cause to Fiction. The Symposium will entail a discussion led by Professor/Writer David McCabe regarding the work of writing and the challenges faced by new, unpublished writers. A reading, Q&A and a reception with hors d’ oeuvres will follow.
Without Sin is a work of contemporary fiction that takes place along the border dividing Southern California and Mexico. It chronicles the exploits of a young border patrol agent (Garrett Harrison) and an ill-starred seventeen-year-old Mexican prostitute (Estefanía Marguerite) as they struggle to come to terms with the increasing violence and changing politics that govern the borderlands dividing their countries.
This event is FREE and open to the public.
“Arguably, the 2000 mile US-Mexico Border is the most socially, economically, and politically tumultuous space in the world. Without Sin takes readers to the line that separates these two countries and tells a human story that could and likely does occur.”
